Damon “Desiac” Henson

Executive Producer, Desiac Music™

An aphrodisiac is an agent that arouses or that is held to arouse pleasure.  Damon “Desiac” (disiac) Henson’s “agent” is his music.  Born and raised on Houston ’s North East side , 25-year-old Desiac has been cultivating and mastering his production style for over 5 years.  No genre of music has been left untapped by this producer/composer whose style can be defined as eclectic at best.  Desiac pours various elements of his person into each of his compositions and this is reflected in the rich sound and tightly arranged musical jewels.

Desiac’s love for music began in 1990, when he learned to play the trumpet in 6th grade beginner band.  His success with the trumpet put him on a mission to “play every other instrument in the band.”  By the time Desiac entered M.B Smiley High School , he was able to play at least one instrument in every section of the band, from woodwinds to percussion.  Throughout his high school career, Desiac acted as section leader of the French Horns and played a pivotal role in the creation of the Quake Kappa Psi “Marching Quake” fraternity, which is still an active part of the Smiley campus culture.  By 1996, his senior year of high school, Desiac became Student Band Director.  As SBD Desiac arranged pieces for and conducted his fellow band-mates in several school events such as homecoming and pep rallies.

Once he graduated high school, Desiac made the decision to attend Prairie View A&M University , where he studied the piano under Dr. Vicki Seldon, an esteemed faculty member of the Prairie View music department as well as a pianist in the Houston Symphony Orchestra.  As a member of the Prairie View A&M University “Marching Storm,” Desiac continued the legacy he had established in high school.  He became leader of the French horn section by his sophomore year, and took on the role of Student Band Director by the end of his junior year, where he again arranged for and conducted his peers.

By April of 2000, Desiac was surrounded by music.  He studied music in his classes, he played music in the band, and he listened to music at social events.  Then one day while he was “toying” around on his Sony Play-station, Desiac discovered that he could create music.  He made his first “beat” entitled “Playa Shi*” and made the decision that creating music was what fulfilled him most.  Desiac was determined to become a producer.  Now that he could create, Desiac poured himself into his music deeper than ever.  His father bought him the Ensoniq ZR-76 keyboard, which he sat at for hours creating music.  He eventually began to share his works with his friends and other peers.  To Desiac’s advantage one of his peers had a close relationship to Warren “Chappie” Fitzgerald, ESQ a well-known Criminal and Entertainment lawyer.  Through Desiac’s friend, Chappie heard some of Desiac’s music and was impressed enough to give him the opportunity to improve on his craft.  Through Chappie, Desiac was able to gain access to a pre-production studio in Down Town Houston where he not only learned more about producing, but also how to engineer.

After several months, Desiac decided to branch out and build his own pre-production studio.  By the spring of 2003, Desiac and long-time friend and now business partner Leron “L. Boogie” Livingston combined forces to develop “The Sweat Box” pre-production studio.  In the early part of 2004, Desiac and L. Boogie (Executive and Associate producers) along with artist Jason “Freaky Jason” Dean founded Desiac MusicÔ, named after Desiac.

Under Desiac Music™, Desiac has produced and engineered for several artists such as independent jazz vocalist “Cassandra” and signed artists “D-Ward and Focus” who recently released their debut album under Global Records.  Desiac Music’s™ artist Freaky Jason has a cameo single, entitled “All You Do Is Bitch” (produced by Desiac) on “Money Black presents the Hit Squad’s” album entitled “Operation Takeover.”

With major projects such as the release of Freaky Jason’s sophomore effort “Heart” and other production deals in the works, Desiac and his Desiac Music™ partners plan to be pioneers in Houston’s expanding music market and will be a force to be reckoned with in 2005 and beyond.
